Peter Paul Biró leaned in for a closer look. His trained eye caught something in the foliage—something that shouldn’t be there. A fingerprint. Pressed into the wet paint two hundred years ago.

The initials J.W.T. were scratched into the pier in small squares. Turner had hidden his signature in plain sight. Biró insisted: “Let us celebrate with a nice glass of red wine.”
